Best of the Best Gaming Laptops brands of This Year. This is the best gaming laptop from the best in the world of gaming laptops today.

Choosing the best gaming laptop in early 2019 is a difficult business. With the price of laptop GPUs down, SSDs are becoming more affordable, and screen technology is getting better every few months, even lower-priced gaming laptops are able to run the best PC games out there.

At the top, you now get more for your money, with some portable PCs offering 1070 and even 1080 graphics cards, along with dual-hard drives and lots of RAM left. They are made of harder materials, but are lighter and more portable than before. The best laptops in 2019 really are a beautiful part of the kit.

So, what should you look for on a gaming laptop? Prices are clearly a concern, especially as money is potentially tight in January. If you buy a laptop with a Max-Q 1070 graphics card, along with an i7 processor and a decent sized SSD and the amount of RAM, you are looking for $1,800+ for some of the best models.

Of course, you can cut corners on the size of the SSD, and maybe go down to 1060 Max-Q, but that won't be proof of your future for the next 3-4 years.

If you want something like this, the MSI GS65 Stealth Thin and Razer Blade 15 are our top choices, both of which are the best gaming laptops we've tested. At the lower end of the scale, you see GPU 1050 with a slower processor and ordinary HDD with only $650. Anything around that price will run lots of great games, but it won't suit the best in higher settings, and you might will be looking to improve in a few years.

We know that the latest 2019 laptops will bring dazzling 4K OLED screens, and this will be very expensive when they land, so the current LCD panel harvests (many of which run at 144Hz) will still be perfect for playing games for years to come . Here is a selection of our best gaming laptops today.

GS65 Stealth Thin provides everything I want on a gaming laptop. It has the convenience and portability of a productivity notebook - light and thin enough so that I can throw it into a backpack, take it to a meeting, and comfortably use it on the sofa - marry the PC's internal guts - strong enough to play the latest games at high or maximum settings after business day is over.

It has a sleek matte black aluminum body with gold accents that feel sturdy and luxurious - and fortunately lacking in the aesthetics of annoying gamers. Best of all, in addition to thin, 18mm thickness, a 4.9mm bezel thin screen allows for an overall chassis size that is about one inch smaller than most 15-inch laptops.

In terms of performance, the GS65 does not disappoint. The basic specifications feature the GTX 1060 Max-Q GPU, but I recommend the GTX 1070 model (again Max-Q) for a few hundred dollars more. This is accompanied by an increase in SSD and Killer wireless networks.

This specification allows the GS65 to maintain a framerate above 60 fps in most of the latest games with maximum settings. And by changing some settings and deactivating some of the more demanding, less impactful options, you can easily push your framerate up to 100 fps and above, taking advantage of the system's 144Hz display.

There are other good details too: the SteelSeries keyboard is solid and responsive (and RGB-lit, if you care about such things), responsive touchpads, and webcams placed at the top of the screen, fortunately avoiding unattractive "nose-cam" found on most thin laptops such as Dell XPS 13.

The only missing game feature here is G-Sync, but it is a violation that can be forgiven for negligence allowing a lower price tag and battery life that legally lasts all day via email, web search, and video streaming.
